Enterprise retail: secure store networks for retail and QSR chains

Connect and secure every store from one console. 4G/5G failover keeps POS and payments running when fibre fails, and a new store comes online at power-on.

Key facts

Customers
KFC, Pizza Hut, Blinkit, Zudio and Westside.
Zero-touch provisioning
You ship the device, the store plugs it in, and it pulls its configuration. No engineer configures it on site.
POS continuity
Dual-SIM 4G/5G with arbitration by signal, latency or data usage, plus sub-second SLA-based failover on SD-WAN.
Security at every store
IPS, gateway antivirus, web filtering and InstaShield IP reputation blocking, with segmentation for POS, CCTV and guest traffic.
Scale
75,000+ devices deployed; 400+ enterprise and banking customers; 24×7 NOC in Pune and country-wide field operations.

What retail networks have to get right

Your store network has three jobs. It must keep billing and payments online and keep store systems secure. And it must do both at hundreds of sites, with almost no IT staff on the ground. We built the platform around those jobs.

Open stores fast

Your new store opens to a date, not when the network is ready. With zero-touch provisioning, you pre-register the device by serial number and ship it to the store. It comes online with its full configuration when connected. Store templates keep every site consistent. Mass firmware upgrade and config rollback keep your estate current without store visits.

Keep POS and payments running

When the fixed line drops in the middle of a sale, billing cannot stop. So every store gets a cellular path:

  • Instaroute routers (4G LTE or 5G) with dual SIMs from different operators, as the primary link or as backup.
  • SD-WAN SLA tiers measure loss, latency and jitter, and move payment traffic to the healthy link in under a second.
  • QoS with five traffic classes keeps your POS and payment traffic ahead of music streaming, updates and guest Wi-Fi.
  • Duplicate mode can send payment traffic over two links at once, so a link failure drops nothing.

Secure every store, including franchises

Your stores are soft targets. Shared back-office PCs, IoT devices, CCTV and public Wi-Fi sit on the same premises. You separate them into zones and VRFs, so a compromised camera or guest device cannot reach POS. The security suite runs on the edge, with one policy for every store. If you run a franchise network, the multi-tenant console lets you give each partner visibility of their own stores. You keep central control of security policy. Segmentation of this kind also supports your card-data security programme.

Run guest Wi-Fi responsibly

InstaWave hotspot and guest Wi-Fi gives your shoppers access that is separated from store systems. Guest Wi-Fi collects personal data such as mobile numbers, so it falls under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act. The DPDP Rules' substantive duties, including security safeguards and breach notification, apply from about May 2027. We help you prepare. Guest Wi-Fi runs on its own SSID and VLAN, isolated from store systems. QoS stops guest traffic from crowding out your operations.

How a store rollout works

  1. Template. Define your store profiles (small, standard, flagship) with WAN, SIM policy, VLANs, firewall and Wi-Fi settings.
  2. Pre-register. Upload device serials against your store IDs.
  3. Ship and plug in. The store connects power, fixed line and SIMs. The device comes online zero-touch.
  4. Verify. Our 24×7 NOC confirms links, POS reachability and failover. Field teams handle any site issue.
  5. Operate. You get alarms for link state, signal and data usage, and 25+ reports. One SLA covers hardware, firmware and platform.

Prefer a monthly per-store fee? Nexapp NaaS bundles hardware, connectivity, security and 24×7 operations.

Quantum-safe by design

Your store traffic carries payment and customer data. Every tunnel uses hybrid post-quantum key exchange (ML-KEM, NIST FIPS 203). Firmware and configuration are post-quantum signed. That protects you against harvest-now, decrypt-later, from a small store router to head office. Start with one router. Grow to full SASE.

Frequently asked questions

How fast can we deploy 100+ stores?

Zero-touch provisioning removes on-site configuration.

So your pace depends on logistics and link delivery rather than engineers. You pre-register devices by serial, and they come online when connected.

Can 4G keep POS running when the fixed line fails?

Yes. Instaroute routers carry 4G or 5G with dual SIMs.

SD-WAN SLA probes move your payment traffic to the cellular link with sub-second failover.

Can we separate POS, CCTV and guest Wi-Fi?

Yes. Zone firewall and VRF segmentation keep each type of traffic in its own zone.

Guest or IoT devices cannot reach your POS systems.

How do we manage security across franchise stores?

You push one policy from the central console to every store.

The multi-tenant console can give franchise partners visibility of their own sites. Security policy stays under your control.

Does guest Wi-Fi need to comply with DPDP now?

The DPDP Rules were notified in November 2025, and the substantive duties apply from about May 2027.

We help you prepare by keeping guest Wi-Fi on an isolated network, separate from POS and store systems.

Can we pay per store as a subscription?

Yes. Nexapp NaaS covers hardware, connectivity, security and 24×7 operations on a per-site subscription.
