Cloud datacenter integration

Bring cloud and data-centre workloads onto the same fabric and policy as your branches.

Cloud datacenter integration connects cloud and data-centre workloads to your SD-WAN and security fabric. Nexapp puts those workloads under the same routing, encryption and policy as your branches and users, managed from one console.

What it does

Applications are spread across your own data centre, a DR site and one or more clouds. Each connection is often built by hand, with its own tunnels, routing and firewall rules. Branches reach the cloud through the data centre, which adds delay, and policy differs from place to place. Cloud datacenter integration treats cloud and data-centre workloads as part of one fabric. Branches and users reach them over encrypted paths chosen by policy, routing is shared, and the same security rules apply wherever the workload runs.

How it works in Nexapp

01

One fabric

Data centres and cloud networks join the same hub-and-spoke or full-mesh fabric as your branches, built in the Nexapp Controller.

02

Shared routing and segmentation

BGP, OSPF, static routes and VRF carry reachability between sites, data centres and clouds, and keep segments separate end to end.

03

Direct paths to the cloud

App-aware steering can send cloud traffic straight from the branch instead of hauling it through the data centre.

04

Post-quantum encryption

Links between sites, data centres and clouds use hybrid ML-KEM key exchange (FIPS 203) with ML-DSA (FIPS 204) authentication.

Where teams use it

Primary and DR data centres

A bank keeps its primary and DR data centres in one fabric, so branches can reach either under the same policy.

Hybrid applications in retail

A retailer runs its online store in the cloud and its ERP on premises, and stores reach both over one overlay.

Field sites to a cloud platform

Remote sites on 4G send data straight to a cloud platform over encrypted tunnels, not through head office.

Frequently asked questions

Does branch traffic to the cloud have to go through the data centre?

No. App-aware steering can send cloud traffic directly from the branch, while data-centre traffic stays on the overlay.

Can we keep network segments separate across clouds?

Yes. VRF keeps segments apart, so a payments network and a guest network stay separate from branch to cloud.

How is cloud traffic secured?

Tunnels use hybrid classical + ML-KEM key exchange with ML-DSA authentication, and traffic follows the same firewall and inspection policy as the rest of the platform.
