Digital Experience Monitoring (DEM)

See what users actually experience and find the cause before they raise a ticket.

Digital Experience Monitoring (DEM) measures the performance users really get from their applications and networks. Nexapp DEM tracks application response, link quality, Wi-Fi and SaaS performance, so your team can find the cause of slowness quickly.

What it does

"The system is slow" is one of the most common tickets and one of the hardest to close. The cause could be the user's Wi-Fi, a congested branch link, the ISP, the SaaS provider or the application itself. Each team checks its own dashboard, and the ticket bounces between them. Digital Experience Monitoring measures experience end to end. It tracks how applications respond, how links and Wi-Fi perform, and how SaaS services behave from each site and user. With one view, the team can see where the delay sits and act on it.

How it works in Nexapp

01

Application response

DEM measures how applications and SaaS services respond from each site and for each user.

02

Link quality from SLA probes

ICMP, TCP and HTTP probes track loss, latency, jitter and MOS on every link.

03

Wi-Fi and the last mile

Wi-Fi and link measurements show whether a problem is local, in the provider's network or at the application.

04

In the same console as the network

Experience data sits beside SD-WAN and security data, so a team can move from a slow app to the link, policy or device behind it.

Where teams use it

Voice quality at branches

A bank sees that poor call quality at one branch comes from jitter on a single link, and moves voice to the better path.

Slow SaaS at stores

A retail head office confirms that a slow SaaS app is a provider issue, not the store link, before escalating it.

Remote workers on one ISP

IT spots that a group of home users share the same slow provider, and deals with it once instead of ticket by ticket.

Frequently asked questions

How is DEM different from network monitoring?

Network monitoring shows whether devices and links are up.

DEM shows what users experience in their applications, which is what they actually complain about.

What does Nexapp DEM measure?

Application response, link quality, Wi-Fi performance and SaaS performance, from the sites and users you choose.

Does it track voice quality?

Yes. SLA probes measure MOS alongside loss, latency and jitter, so voice quality is tracked on every link.
