Detection and response

Endpoint protection (EPP/EDR)

Block malware on laptops and servers, and feed endpoint evidence into the same incidents as your network.

Endpoint protection (EPP/EDR) protects laptops, desktops and servers from malware and records suspicious behaviour for investigation. The Nexapp endpoint agent detects and blocks threats on the device and feeds its findings into the same XDR incidents as your network and SSE events.

What it does

The network sees traffic, but the endpoint is where files open and processes run. Malware can arrive on a USB drive, through an encrypted channel or on a laptop that has been away from the office for weeks. Endpoint protection covers that last step. EPP prevents known threats and blocks malicious files. EDR watches behaviour on the device, records what happened and helps analysts understand how an attack unfolded. Together they protect the device even when it is off the corporate network.

How it works in Nexapp

01

Prevention on the device

The Nexapp endpoint agent detects and blocks malware on the endpoint.

02

Behaviour detection

Suspicious behaviour is detected and recorded, giving analysts the sequence of events on the device.

03

Linked to XDR

Endpoint findings join network and SSE events in XDR incidents, so one attack shows up as one story.

04

Managed with everything else

Endpoint alerts sit in the same console as your network, security and access data, with one vendor and one support contract.

Where teams use it

Branch PCs

Teller and back-office PCs are protected even when someone brings in a file on a USB drive.

Field staff laptops

Sales laptops that rarely connect to the office stay protected and report what they find.

Servers in the data centre

Application servers are watched for suspicious behaviour, and alerts join network events in a single incident.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between EPP and EDR?

EPP prevents known threats such as malware from running.

EDR detects suspicious behaviour, records it and supports investigation and response. The Nexapp endpoint agent provides both.

Why take endpoint protection from the same vendor as the network?

Endpoint findings feed the same XDR incidents as network and SSE events, which shortens investigation.

You also deal with one vendor and a 24×7 NOC in Pune.

Does endpoint protection help with regulatory obligations?

Endpoint protection and investigation records support your obligations under RBI's Directions of 31 July 2026 and help you meet CERT-In incident reporting.

Responsibility for compliance stays with your organisation.
