Data and app protection

Nexapp browser extension

Carry zero trust access and data rules into the browser, where much of today's work happens.

The Nexapp browser extension extends ZTNA and DLP controls into the browser. It applies your Nexapp access and data policies to browser-based work, alongside the InstaAccess client, from the same policy engine and console.

What it does

Much of today's work happens in a browser tab: SaaS apps, internal portals, AI tools and webmail. Network controls see the traffic, but they do not always see what happens inside the page, such as text pasted into a form. That leaves a gap exactly where people handle the most data. The Nexapp browser extension brings access and data controls into the browser itself. It applies your ZTNA and DLP policies to browser activity, so the same rules hold whether a risk shows up on the network or on the page.

How it works in Nexapp

01

ZTNA in the browser

Access to browser-based applications follows the same identity and device posture rules as the rest of ZTNA.

02

DLP in the browser

Data rules apply to browser activity, helping stop sensitive content being pasted or uploaded where policy does not allow it.

03

Works with the InstaAccess client

The extension complements the InstaAccess client, which handles ZTNA/SSE, SSL VPN and IPsec VPN at the device level.

04

No separate browser policy

You write rules once in the Nexapp policy engine, and the extension enforces them. There is no second rule set to keep in step.

Where teams use it

SaaS-first teams

A marketing team that works mostly in web apps has DLP rules applied inside the browser as well as on the network.

Web-based AI tools

Text that staff paste into web-based AI tools is checked against the same DLP patterns as file uploads.

Customer-service portals

An insurer's service agents work in a browser-based CRM, and customer identity data is kept from being copied to other sites.

Frequently asked questions

Does the extension replace the InstaAccess client?

No. The extension extends ZTNA and DLP controls into the browser.

The InstaAccess client provides device-level ZTNA/SSE, SSL VPN and IPsec VPN.

Is policy managed separately for the extension?

No. Extension controls come from the same policy engine and console as the rest of Nexapp SSE.

Why control data in the browser as well as on the network?

Some actions, such as pasting text into a web form, happen inside the page.

A control in the browser adds a check at that point, alongside network inspection.
